Robert J. Soper was involved in managing  casino properties in Connecticut and Pennsylvania for a number of years before he took on the role as CEO of a multi-property gaming company. Robert J Soper's experience as the CEO of Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority gave him expertise in not only managing casino operations and expansion, but also a full appreciation of the best ways to operate in very different types of markets, whether in a locals market or a destination market. What is clear to Soper, however, is that in all of the markets he managed, great guest service was the one common thread for success.

Robert J. Soper was appointed President and CEO of Mohegan Sun at Pocono—a casino entertainment complex in Plains, Pennsylvania—in February 2005. As leader of the Pocono property, Soper oversaw the successful launch of the first casino to ever open in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Soper also oversaw several successful property expansions during his tenure, which included the unveiling of 2,500 additional gaming positions, six onsite restaurants, two entertainment venues and countless retail and nightlife amenities.
