Robert J. Soper attended Riverdale High School, the University of Georgia, and the University of Georgia, School of Law. He completed his undergraduate studies at Georgia graduating magna cum laude as a Presidential Scholar and also served as the president of several organizations, including the Economics Society and College Republicans. Today, Robert J. Soper is the President and CEO of Sun Gaming and Hospitality.

Robert J. Soper was appointed President and CEO of Mohegan Sun at Pocono—a casino entertainment complex in Plains, Pennsylvania—in February 2005. As leader of the Pocono property, Soper oversaw the successful launch of the first casino to ever open in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Soper also oversaw several successful property expansions during his tenure, which included the unveiling of 2,500 additional gaming positions, six onsite restaurants, two entertainment venues and countless retail and nightlife amenities.
